
Attractions - Activities & SportsCornwall's unique landscape and seascape make it the ideal choice for those wanting to pursue activities and sports while on holiday. Guests of the Camilla House get up to all sorts of sports from extreme rock climbing on the cliffs of West Cornwall to more sedate cycling through the sleepy back lanes of the Land's End peninsular.
Whether you are an accomplished sports person who will bring their own equipment or somebody wishing to try a new activity for the first time there is something for everybody in West Cornwall. Activity specific pages are being added to this site (see on the right) or check below for some suggestions. Suggested Activities & SportsRock Climbing - Great opportunities at Bosigran and Chair Ladder climbing sites - all easily accessible from the Camilla House. Talk to Simon for further details. Sailing - Mount's Bay is a great place for sailing and there are regular events hosted by both Penzance and Mount's Bay Sailing Clubs. Falmouth and Helford are easily accessible or why not consider a trip on a classic like the beautiful Baltic Trader 'Ruth' that operates out of Penzance (see First Rate Sail's link on the right). Pony Trekking - there are a number of pony trekking centres within easy reach of the Camilla House, full details are available from Susan & Simon. Rugby- Penzance is the spiritual home of the Cornish Pirates (what used to be Penzance & Newlyn Pirates) and while they now play their home matches up in Camborne, the Camilla House is still a good place to base yourself when coming to watch their games. Mounts Bay RFC now play at the Mennaye Field in Penzance and provide an excellent game to watch. Surfing & Wind Surfing - Whether beginner or expert, Cornwall offers some of the finest surf beaches in Europe. If wanting to polish your technique then there are a number of excellent training schools, some also teach kite surfing. Cycling - West Cornwall offers considerable choice for the cyclist with many easy routes through to some more serious off-road experiences. Check out the Cycle Cornwall web site link on the right. Fishing - Whatever you choice - coarse, fly, sea or shore fishing then West Cornwall has a variety of options available to you. Local course and trout fisheries are easily accessed from the Camilla House. Sea fishing boat trips operate out of Penzance and advice can sometimes be extracted from Simon with regards to the better shore fishing spots. Diving - The seas off of Cornwall provide some spectacular dive sites and opportunities to gain in experience.
