Attractions - Things to do Without a Car

West Cornwall is well serviced by public transport both in terms of getting to Penzance to start your holiday and to enable you to explore the many delights on offer.

Things to do without a car

Susan and Simon are more than happy to help plan as much or as little as you want during your stay. A comprehensive collection of timetables and suggested things to do are available to guests, these range from the tried & tested classics through to customised itineries made for your specific requirements.

Suggestions

The 'Other Ideas' sections shown on the right contain many things to do which don't require a car but here are some specific suggestions -

South West Coast Path - Britain's longest National Trail runs along the promenade in front of the Camilla House. Spectacular walking to see Land's End, the Lizard Peninsula and the newly awarded UNESCO World Heritage site of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.
Public transport links to start & end various West Cornwall sections of the path are good and Susan & Simon can arrange drop-off and pick-up for those bits where the buses don't go. Packed lunches and maps are available at the Camilla House.

On Your Bike - The Camilla House has some bicycles available for loan to guests who wish to take advantage of the Cornish Way Cycle Route. There are easy routes from the Camilla House to St.Michael's Mount and Mousehole or why not have a leisurely day exploring the back lanes between Penzance and Land's End? Bikes are available in exchange for a charitable donation to the RNLI (supported by the Camilla House).

Let The Train Take The Strain - St.Ives, Truro, Falmouth and Looe are all easily reached by train from Penzance, and being the end of the line there is no danger of missing your stop when you return! Check out the excellent Car Free Days Out web site by following the link on the right.

The Ultimate Car Free Experience - well after much discussion with guests of the Camilla House it has to be Harry Safari. Truly unique, never forgotten and well worth the experience, why not let Harry take you around to see the real Cornwall and explain all there is to know...
